NATIONAL YELLOW DOT PROGRAM FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

This "Golden Hour" Safety Program is simple in concept and simple in execution:

  1. PLACE A HIGHLY VISIBLE SYMBOL ON YOUR CAR (THE YELLOW DOT STICKER) THAT CAN BE RECOGNIZED AS A "MEDICAL NEEDS ALERT" TO TRAINED RESCUERS!
  2. PLACE A YELLOW ENVELOPE OR OTHER CONTAINER IN THE GLOVE BOX OF YOUR CAR THAT HOLDS KEY MEDICAL INFORMATION SUCH AS: ALLERGIES; MEDICATIONS & PRESCRIPTION DRUGS:  PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS; A PHOTO AND YOUR CONTACT NUMBERS. ALL CRITICAL INFORMATION FOR USE AT THE SCENE BY THE FIRST RESPONDERS.
  3. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, #1 AND #2 COMBINED ENHANCE YOUR SURVIVAL CHANCES AND THE CHANCES OF ANY ENROLLED PASSENGERS.

Most Yellow Dot Programs are supported at the local level by First Responders such as Fire and Rescue, Traffic Enforcement, the Sheriff's Department and other Public Safety Personnel because it speeds recognition of S.A.M.P.L.E. HISTORY, a acronym for obtaining accurate medical history. At this time 22 States have official active programs being deployed at some level.

Our support is for a standardized National Yellow Dot Program as originally defined in U.S. Senate Act (SA1731) as filed by then Senator Joseph Manchin, (D - WVA). The Bill has since been withdrawn however, we hope for it to be reintroduced in 2015.
